The Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority (SLPHA) has alerted the public to a fraudulent recruitment advertisement circulating on social media, warning that the message falsely claims the institution is hiring casual workers on a three-month contract.
In a statement issued by its Communications Department, the Authority clarified that it has not published any such recruitment notice and distanced itself entirely from the circulating advertisement.
SLPHA urged the public to disregard the fake publication and advised job seekers not to engage with or send money to individuals or phone numbers purporting to offer employment opportunities on behalf of the Authority.
The institution emphasized that all legitimate recruitment processes are officially communicated through its verified platforms and recognised media channels whenever vacancies are available.
It further encouraged members of the public to rely only on its official Facebook page, website, WhatsApp channel, and X (formerly Twitter) account for accurate updates on employment and other institutional announcements.
Reaffirming its commitment to transparency and fair recruitment practices, SLPHA warned that individuals behind such fraudulent schemes are attempting to exploit unsuspecting job seekers and undermining public trust. Warns Public Over Fake Recruitment Advertisement Circulating Online
