The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has officially extended the mandates of its Men’s and Women’s Premier League Boards into the 2026/27 football season, a move aimed at sustaining stability and continuity in the management of domestic football competitions.

The decision, announced by the Association’s Executive Committee, allows the current boards that oversaw the 2025/26 campaign to remain in office for another season as part of efforts to strengthen league administration and ensure uninterrupted operations.

According to the SLFA, the extension is intended to maintain consistency in the organisation of fixtures, disciplinary processes, and regulatory oversight, while ongoing reforms and development initiatives within the domestic football structure continue.

The Association noted that preserving the existing leadership framework will help avoid disruptions often associated with board transitions and reinforce professionalism in the running of Sierra Leone’s top-tier competitions.

The Women’s Premier League Board will continue to be led by Chairperson Hon. Mariatu Rachel Sesay-Pessima, supported by Secretary Angella Constance Gabbidon and regional representatives from across the country.

Meanwhile, the Men’s Premier League Board will remain under the chairmanship of Osman Tommy, alongside board members John Dissa, Hon. Mohamed Papa Bangura, and Brima Turay.

The SLFA further clarified that three Premier League clubs will continue to serve as rotational representatives on each board during the season, maintaining the total membership of seven per board.

The extension signals the Association’s commitment to administrative consistency as the Sierra Leone Premier League prepares for another competitive season.

For clubs, players, and stakeholders, the decision is expected to provide a stable environment for league activities while allowing ongoing football development programmes to progress under familiar leadership.

The SLFA reiterated its commitment to good governance, transparency, and the sustainable growth of football in Sierra Leone, while commending the retained board members for their continued dedication to the game.
