APC Announces Funeral Arrangements as Corpse of Late National Chairman Minkailu Mansaray Arrives Today

The Opposition Leader in Parliament, Abdul Kargbo, has announced a series of funeral arrangements for the late National Chairman of the All People’s Congress (APC), Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray, as preparations intensify for his final homecoming and burial.

In a statement issued on his return from Senegal, Hon. Kargbo disclosed that he arrived in Freetown on Friday morning to join party stakeholders in a high-level meeting with President Julius Maada Bio and to support the organization of the reception for the late chairman’s remains.

According to him, the flight carrying Mansaray’s body is expected to arrive at Lungi International Airport at 4:30 p.m. Upon arrival, the remains will be escorted to the Lungi Government Hospital before a Qur’anic recitation is held later in the evening at Hon. Kargbo’s residence in Lungi.

He further stated that on the following morning, a motorcade will accompany the remains from Lungi at approximately 8:30 a.m., passing through Port Loko on its way to Freetown.

As part of the final rites, the late chairman’s body will lie in repose at the APC National Secretariat on Sunday from 12 noon, where party executives, supporters, sympathizers, and members of the public will be given the opportunity to pay their last respects.

On Monday, the remains will be laid in state at the State Hall of Parliament at 10:00 a.m., followed by a civic laying-out ceremony at the Freetown City Council, allowing the wider public to honor the late APC chairman.

Hon. Kargbo called on party stakeholders, supporters, and well-wishers across the country to participate in the ceremonies as a mark of respect for the late Mansaray’s service and legacy within the party and national politics.

He noted that further updates regarding the funeral proceedings will be communicated in due course.
