The ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party has extended its condolences to the opposition All People’s Congress following the death of its National Chairman, Hon. Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray.
In an official condolence message dated June 15, 2026, and addressed to the APC National Secretary General, the SLPP said it received news of Mansaray’s passing with “thoughtful despondency,” describing him as a devoted and steadfast public servant who dedicated many years of his life to the service of Sierra Leone.
The party acknowledged Mansaray’s contributions to national development, highlighting his service in key positions including Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources, Minister of Labour, and later as National Chairman of the APC.
According to the SLPP, his efforts in promoting national cohesion, peace, and democracy will remain part of Sierra Leone’s political history and continue to be remembered by generations to come.
At what it described as a difficult moment for the APC, the ruling party extended heartfelt condolences to the Acting National Chairman, the leadership, members, and supporters of the opposition party, as well as to the late politician’s wife, children, and family.
The SLPP further noted that despite political and ideological differences, the nation remains united in grief, emphasizing the importance of solidarity in times of loss.
The party concluded by praying for Allah to grant the late Mansaray Aljannah Firdaus and for his family and the APC the strength and resilience to bear what it described as an immense loss.
