Martina Egbenda has emerged as the clear frontrunner in an online opinion poll conducted by Owl Media ahead of the forthcoming Sierra Leone Bar Association elections, signaling growing support for her candidacy among members of the legal community.

According to the poll results, Egbenda secured 189 votes out of a total of 215 votes cast online, while her rival, Tuma Jabbie, received 26 votes. The outcome places Egbenda significantly ahead, reflecting what many observers describe as a strong appetite for new leadership within the Bar Association.

Supporters of Egbenda have interpreted the poll as an indication of increasing momentum behind her campaign, which has largely been centered on the promise of change, reform, and a fresh approach to the affairs of the legal profession.

Reports accompanying the survey indicate that approximately 80 percent of those who participated in the poll were legal practitioners. this suggests that a substantial portion of the legal community is engaging with the ongoing electoral process and may be seeking a different direction for the Association.

Observers of the legal sector note that the poll results are consistent with the growing visibility of Egbenda’s campaign in recent weeks. Her message of transformation and renewed leadership has reportedly resonated with many lawyers who believe the Bar Association should embrace new ideas and approaches.

Meanwhile, Tuma Jabbie’s campaign has been widely perceived as representing continuity, with supporters emphasizing the need to build upon existing achievements and maintain the current trajectory of the Association.

As the election approaches, attention is expected to remain focused on how both candidates engage members and articulate their plans for the future of the Sierra Leone Bar Association.
