The membership of the Sierra Leone Bar Association has been informed that the Association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), originally scheduled for 5 and 6 June 2026, has been postponed until a later date.

In a general notice issued by the Association, the decision was made pursuant to Section 185(1) of the Companies Act No. 5 of 2009 (as amended), Articles 11 and 30(a) of the Memorandum and Articles of Association of the SLBA, and a resolution passed by members on 10 and 11 February 2022.

According to the notice, the postponement was necessitated by logistical and other challenges beyond the control of the Association’s Directors. The Directors expressed regret over the development and apologized to members for any inconvenience the delay may cause.

The Association assured members that a new date for the AGM will be communicated in due course.

Meanwhile, the Treasurer of the SLBA will utilize the postponement period to verify members’ payments and reconcile records with the bank. The exercise is expected to facilitate the final determination of eligibility for participation in the AGM, particularly regarding members who have fully paid their dues.

The notice underscores the Association’s commitment to ensuring an accurate and transparent verification process ahead of the rescheduled Annual General Meeting.
