The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) attached to the Ross Road Police Station in the Harbour Division in Freetown are investigating an incident involving two individuals, Eddie Bob Deffie and Angelo, suspected of engaging in illegal same-sex activity, with one suspect believed to have fled the area.

The incident reportedly involves consensual same-sex activity that took place at Shell, Kissy, in Freetown.

According to police reports, the incident occurred at approximately 8:50 p.m. on Thursday, 2nd June 2022.

Following received intelligence, a police team led by Crime Officer D/DSF O. Cole proceeded to the scene in an official police vehicle marked SLP-016. Upon arrival, the officers conducted an operation in the area. During this intervention, Angelo was apprehended at the scene; however, Eddie Bob Deffie allegedly escaped before police arrived.

Preliminary investigations indicate that statements have been obtained from individuals believed to possess relevant information regarding the case. Angelo has been interviewed by investigators and is currently cooperating with the ongoing inquiry.

Police records further state that Eddie Bob Deffie, a 22-year-old resident of 16 Yamson Lane, Shell, Kissy, Freetown, fled the community shortly after the incident. Reports suggest that he left the area due to fears for his safety, following threats and hostility from members of the community.

The Sierra Leone Police confirm that investigations are ongoing, and efforts are being made to locate Eddie Bob Deffie for questioning in connection with this case. Members of the public are urged to remain calm and to provide any useful information that may assist the police in their investigation.

Furthermore, police authorities have announced that a reward may be offered for credible information leading to the successful arrest or location of the wanted suspect.
