Marampa Mines Commits to Local Content Compliance with New Agreement

Marampa Mines Limited has signed a Local Content Plan Implementation Agreement with the Sierra Leone Local Content Agency at a ceremony held in Freetown, reaffirming its commitment to national development priorities.

Director General Fodeba Daboh stressed the importance of compliance with local content regulations, stating that procurement processes must create tangible opportunities for Sierra Leoneans. He noted that the inclusion of local suppliers and businesses is essential for strengthening the domestic economy and building national wealth.

Speaking on behalf of Marampa Mines, a company representative welcomed the Agency’s guidance and said the agreement would serve as a framework to guide operations and enhance local participation.

Marampa Mines, based in Port Loko District, is a key player in Sierra Leone’s mining sector, specializing in the production of high-grade iron ore for export. The company contributes to job creation, government revenue, and investment in mining infrastructure and surrounding communities.

The agreement is aimed at strengthening collaboration between government and industry to ensure the mining sector delivers wider economic benefits.
