The Office of His Excellency Ernest Bai Koroma, former President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, has expressed serious concern over the circulation of false, misleading, and unauthorized content on social media platforms, particularly statements wrongly attributed to the former Head of State.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Office distanced itself from publications made by a Facebook page operating under the name “President Koroma Fans Page 2007–2018,” describing the content as fraudulent and not reflective of the views, position, or voice of former President Koroma.

According to the Office, the statements being circulated were neither issued, authorized, nor approved by H.E. Ernest Bai Koroma or any official representative of his Office.

The Office further disclosed that a formal Cease and Desist notice has been issued to the operators of the page, while members of the public have been urged to disregard the misleading publications. Genuine supporters of the former President have also been encouraged to unfollow the offending platform.

“The Office of H.E. Ernest Bai Koroma remains grateful to his supporters and well-wishers for their continued goodwill, respect, and loyalty, and reiterates its commitment to the values of peace, dignity, and responsible public discourse,” the statement noted.

The Office emphasized that only communications released through officially recognized channels should be considered authentic and urged social media users to exercise caution in sharing unverified information.
