The National Water Resources Management Agency (NWRMA) has reinforced its partnership with the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) to enhance the enforcement of water laws and safeguard the country’s vital water resources. The collaboration was celebrated yesterday as a key step toward responsible water governance nationwide.

SLP leadership reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property, emphasizing that water resources, as state-owned assets, must be preserved for the benefit of all citizens. The Police highlighted that the partnership with NWRMA will help regulate human activities that threaten the integrity of these resources.

The SLP will play a critical role in enforcing water laws, including monitoring water bodies, investigating water-related offenses, and prosecuting violators in court.

“This collaboration ensures the protection of Sierra Leone’s water resources, strengthens public confidence, and advances the rule of law across the country,” NWRMA officials stated.

The partnership underscores the shared responsibility between government institutions to manage natural resources effectively and sustainably for present and future generations.
