The All People’s Congress (APC) has officially released its Internal Elections Timeline ahead of the party’s forthcoming lower-level conventions and elections, following the successful re-publication of its election rules by the Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC).
In a public notice issued by the APC National Secretariat, the party said the revised timeline is consistent with the provisions of its enabling Act of Parliament and is intended to guide the conduct of internal democratic processes at all levels nationwide.
According to the document dated 15 January 2026, the schedule outlines key activities beginning with the publication of the voter and membership register for ward elections on 16 January 2026, followed by ward elections on 7 February 2026.
This will be followed by the publication of the delegates’ list for constituency conventions on 8 February 2026, with constituency conventions including those of the Diaspora chapters scheduled for 1 March 2026. The party will then publish delegates’ lists for district conventions on 2 March 2026, ahead of district conventions slated for 24 March 2026, including Diaspora districts and branches.
The timeline further indicates that delegates’ lists for regional conventions will be published on 25 March 2026. Additionally, delegates for recognised party wings and groups including the Local Council Group, Former Councillors, National Union of APC Students, Former Members of Parliament Group, Persons with Disability Wing, and Associate Groups are scheduled to be published on 22 February 2026.
The APC Secretariat stated that the timeline is designed to promote transparency, inclusiveness, and credibility in the party’s internal democratic process as preparations intensify for the next electoral cycle.
In a continuation of the roadmap, the party also announced plans for higher-level conventions and its National Delegates Conference (NDC). According to the extended schedule signed by the APC National Secretary General, Lansana Dumbuya Esq., regional conventions and special organs congresses will follow the completion of ward, constituency, and district-level activities, culminating in the National Delegates Conference set for August 2026.
Party stakeholders and supporters have been urged to fully participate in the process and adhere strictly to the established guidelines to ensure a smooth, peaceful, and credible internal elections process across the country.
As part of its extended internal elections roadmap, the All People’s Congress (APC) has announced dates for higher-level conventions, including regional conventions, special organs congresses, and the National Delegates Conference (NDC).
According to the schedule signed by APC National Secretary General Lansana Dumbuya Esq., regional conventions, including those for the Diaspora Sixth Region, are set for 16 April 2026. Delegates’ lists for Special Organs Congresses covering the Women’s Congress, Veterans Congress, and Young Congress will be published on 17 April 2026, with the Special Organs Conventions themselves scheduled for 9 May 2026.
The party confirmed that the National Delegates Conference will take place from 9 to 12 August 2026, representing a pivotal stage in APC’s democratic and constitutional processes.
Preparatory activities leading up to the NDC include the official announcement of the conference’s date and venue on 30 January 2026, the deadline for submission of proposed constitutional amendments on 8 May 2026, and the formal publication of proposed amendments and the NDC agenda on 8 July 2026.
The list of eligible delegates will be published on 18 July 2026, with objections due by 25 July 2026 and final decisions on any disputes set for 1 August 2026.
