Leading All People’s Congress (APC) presidential candidate Ady Macauley hosted former Vice President Sam Sumana, also a contender for the APC flagbearer position, on Monday, 5 January 2026.
The meeting brought together the teams of both aspirants, “Team Sam 2028 and Team Ady Macauley for discussions aimed at fostering party unity and collaboration within the APC.

The discussion was fruitful, focusing on ways to improve progress, strengthen bonds, and work together in preparation for the 2028 general elections. The meeting emphasized the importance of standing united to regain State House and ensure the APC returns to power.
The meeting also focused on fostering dialogue, collaboration, and collective action toward winning State House in the 2028 elections.
Both teams reaffirmed their commitment to party unity, peaceful dialogue, and constitutional democratic processes, emphasizing that the APC must speak with one voice ahead of the elections.
The Sam28 Team expressed readiness to support any duly elected APC flagbearer, while calling for mutual respect and cooperation, and both sides agreed to sustain open communication in the shared interest of returning the APC to power in 2028
The engagement reflects early efforts by party leaders to forge partnerships and align strategies among aspirants, with the broader goal of presenting a united front against the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) in the upcoming elections.
