The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babadi Kamara, has hailed Leone Rock Metal Group for its continued commitment to the growth and transformation of football in Sierra Leone, following the signing of a new $180,000 sponsorship deal for the 2025/26 Leone Rock Premier League.
Speaking at the official signing ceremony held at the Bintumani Conference Center in Freetown, President Kamara expressed deep appreciation to Leone Rock for what he described as “a true demonstration of corporate patriotism and trust in the football project under the new SLFA leadership.”
The agreement marks Leone Rock’s third consecutive sponsorship of the nation’s top-tier league, bringing the company’s total investment in the competition to over $400,000 — from $80,000 in 2023/24, $150,000 in 2024/25, and now $180,000 for the upcoming 2025/26 season.

President Kamara underscored the importance of such partnerships in advancing not only the game but also national unity and youth empowerment. “Football is more than sport; it is a vehicle for peace, cohesion, and opportunity. Leone Rock’s consistent support goes beyond financial contribution it fuels dreams, transforms lives, and strengthens the spirit of togetherness among Sierra Leoneans,” he said.
He further assured that under his administration, every cent of the sponsorship fund will be utilized with transparency and accountability to achieve tangible results. “With my background in Applied Accounting, I remain committed to ensuring that all football resources are managed efficiently and directed toward their intended purposes. Our mission is clear — to build a football ecosystem that inspires confidence, creates opportunities, and leaves a legacy for future generations,” Kamara added.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by the Minister of Sports, Madam Augusta James-Teima; Deputy Executive Director of the National Sports Authority, Dr. Abdulrahaman Swarray; SLFA Vice President 2, Prince Saquee; Western Area Regional Football Association Chairman, Rev. Philip Buck; Acting General Secretary, Mohamed Benson Bawoh; and Premier League Board Chairman, Osman Tommy, among other distinguished guests.
Leone Rock Metal Group’s Director of General Administration and Human Resources, Director Miller, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting football in Sierra Leone, describing the partnership as a shared vision for national development through sports.

The event concluded with the formal signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a symbolic presentation of the sponsorship cheque to Minister James-Teima, President Kamara, and Chairman Tommy.
The 2025/26 Leone Rock Premier League officially kicks off on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
