President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babadi Kamara, has presented a proposal for the national FA Cup competition to Africell’s Chief Executive Officer, Shadi Gerjawi.

During the presentation, President Kamara thanked Africell for its attendance and referenced their earlier meeting on Tuesday, where both parties discussed the proposal in detail.

He commended Africell for its continued contributions to national development, describing the telecommunications company as a model within the industry.

“My administration is committed to changing the trajectory of football in Sierra Leone,” Kamara said. “We now have the responsibility to restore the image of our football to attract sponsorships and compete at the highest level globally.

“We would like to partner with you to support the biggest competition in Sierra Leone the FA Cup which is expected to kick off in January. We also want the SLFA Secretariat to be ready before the league starts, and we are counting on your support in this regard.”

In response, Africell CEO Shadi Gerjawi thanked the SLFA President for his passion and commitment to football development in Sierra Leone.

“We will take your proposal very seriously and get back to you shortly, as January is fast approaching,” he assured. Gerjawi also hinted at the possibility of fulfilling most or all aspects of the proposal and reaffirmed Africell’s interest in supporting the completion of the new SLFA Secretariat.

Following the meeting, the Africell delegation was taken on a guided tour of the ongoing construction works at the SLFA Secretariat.
