Austrian second-tier club Schwarz Weiß Bregenz has confirmed the signing of highly rated Sierra Leonean defender Saidu Musa “Jones” Bangura, marking a major step forward in the teenager’s career.
The 19-year-old centre-back sealed a deal with the Vorarlberg-based outfit that will keep him at the club until 2027. He makes the move from Sierra Leone Premier League champions East End Lions, popularly known as “The Killers,” where he played a key role in their 2024/25 title triumph—the club’s first since 2019.

On the international stage, Bangura has already represented Sierra Leone, turning out for the U20 national team at the CAF TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations. His solid performances have fueled expectations that he could soon break into the senior Leone Stars squad.
SW Bregenz, currently sitting bottom of the Austrian Liga 2 table after losing all five of their league matches this season, view Bangura as a vital addition to their defense. The club believes his composure, strength, and tactical awareness will bolster their bid to turn around a difficult start.

The transfer represents not only a personal milestone for Bangura but also a boost for Sierra Leonean football, as another homegrown talent makes the leap to Europe in pursuit of greater opportunities.
