The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) officially introduced Abdul Karim Bangura (AKB) as the new Team Manager to the Leone Stars’ technical team and players this morning at the SLFA Headquarters in Freetown, during the national team’s training session. The introduction was conducted by Acting General Secretary Mohammed Benson Bawoh.

In his opening remarks, Bangura expressed gratitude and commitment, saying:

“It is with deep humility and pride that I accept this appointment as the Team Manager of our beloved national team, the Leone Stars. I sincerely thank the Sierra Leone Football Association, especially the Executive Committee, for the trust and confidence placed in me.

This is not just a personal honor, but a call to national service. My commitment is simple: to work tirelessly, hand in hand with the technical team, players, and management, to ensure that our Leone Stars are well-prepared, well-motivated, and fully supported to achieve success. Together, with unity, discipline, and determination, we will make Sierra Leone proud.”

Head Coach Mohamed Kallon, speaking on behalf of the technical team and players, warmly welcomed Bangura to the national team setup. He said:

“We are happy to have you as Team Manager. You are not new to the game, as we have all seen the changes and development you brought to Bo Rangers Football Club. We strongly believe you can replicate the same success with the national team.”

The brief ceremony was also attended by two SLFA Executive Committee members: Pastor Philip Buck, Chairman of the Western Area Football Association, and Brima Jalloh, Chairman of the North-East Region.
