The All People’s Congress (APC) delegation has arrived at the Accra International Conference Centre to take part in the Africa Political Parties Summit, joining political leaders from across the continent to deliberate on democracy, governance, and sustainable development.
Led by senior party officials, including Acting National Chairman Ambassador Alhaji Osman Foday Yansaneh, moyor Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr, Hon. Abdul Kargbo and others, the APC team will represent Sierra Leone in high-level discussions alongside delegates from over 100 major political parties across Africa and the Caribbean. The event, running from August 12 to 14, 2025, provides a platform for fostering dialogue, consensus-building, and cooperation across party lines.

The Africa Political Parties Summit, organised by the Africa Governance Centre in partnership with the Government of Ghana, brings together heads of state, political leaders, civil society representatives, academics, and development experts. This year’s theme, “From Politics to Prosperity: Strengthening Inter-Party Collaboration for Africa’s Development and Economic Transformation,” focuses on how cross-party cooperation can help strengthen democratic governance and drive economic transformation across the continent.
The three-day programme includes plenary sessions, strategy forums, and side meetings, culminating in the adoption of the African Political Parties Initiative (APPI) an institutional framework designed to enhance inter-party engagement, build capacity, and promote governance reforms. Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama is expected to deliver the opening address, setting the tone for the Summit’s deliberations.

For the APC, participation in the Summit is an opportunity to showcase Sierra Leone’s political engagement on the continental stage and contribute to shaping policies that address Africa’s pressing challenges, including political instability, economic inequality, and climate change.
