FIFA President Gianni Infantino congratulates new SLFA President Babadi Kamara

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) is pleased to inform the general public, football stakeholders, and the sporting community at large that the President of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), Mr. Gianni Infantino, has sent an official letter dated 6th August 2025, warmly congratulating Mr. Babadi Kamara on his recent election as President of the Sierra Leone Football Association.

In his letter, President Infantino extended his “warmest greetings and sincerest congratulations” to Mr. Kamara, expressing strong confidence in his ability to lead Sierra Leonean football to greater heights. He noted:

“Your knowledge and leadership, your passion and experience will undoubtedly have an important impact on the development of our beautiful game in Sierra Leone.”

The FIFA President further assured Mr. Kamara of his personal support and that of FIFA in the pursuit of sustainable football development in the country. He encouraged continued dialogue on the sport and its values, reaffirming:

“The doors of FIFA are always open if you wish to discuss our sport, its development and the promotion of its values.”

President Infantino also extended his congratulations to the Vice-Presidents and Members of the SLFA Executive Committee, and wished the entire team “good luck and success for all the challenges that lie ahead, in creating and witnessing a lasting legacy for the future of football in Sierra Leone.”

The SLFA acknowledges this gesture as a strong endorsement of the new leadership’s vision and commitment to the growth of football in Sierra Leone. The Association remains grateful for FIFA’s continued support and looks forward to deepening the collaborative relationship under the leadership of President Babadi Kamara.
