In a heartfelt gesture aimed at restoring hope and rebuilding young dreams, Ady Macaulay, a leading flagbearer aspirant for the All People’s Congress (APC), has distributed hundreds of school supplies to children affected by the recent devastating fire in Aberdeen.

The inferno, which tore through homes just a few weeks ago, left families in despair and children without basic school materials. Many students lost everything — from books and bags to uniforms and stationery — making it nearly impossible for them to return to school.

Determined to help these children bounce back, Mr. Macaulay led a community outreach on Wednesday, distributing school bags filled with essential learning materials. Each bag contained exercise books, pens, pencils, and other supplies — along with an envelope holding Le200, a small but significant gesture of financial support for affected families.

Speaking during the distribution ceremony, Mr. Macaulay emphasized the value he places on education and the need to ensure that every child, regardless of their circumstances, is able to continue learning.

“Education is the most powerful tool we can give to our children. These kids have lost everything, but we must not allow them to lose their future too,” he said. “This is not just about giving school supplies — it’s about giving hope, dignity, and a chance to dream again.”

The event drew community members, parents, and local leaders, many of whom expressed deep gratitude for the support. For many of the beneficiaries, this was the first step toward normalcy after the trauma of losing their homes.

Ady Macaulay, a lawyer and youth advocate, has increasingly gained attention not just for his political ambitions but also for his grassroots engagement and support for education and youth empowerment. Wednesday’s act of solidarity in Aberdeen further cements his reputation as a leader who listens and acts.

As schools resume and children prepare to return to the classroom, Mr. Macaulay’s timely intervention is a reminder that leadership begins with compassion, and rebuilding a nation starts with investing in its youngest minds.
