A group of 14 out of 19 Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) Chiefdom Chairmen in Tonkolili District have lodged a formal complaint against the District Chairman and District Secretary General, accusing them of refusing to accept the results of recent sectional elections conducted in accordance with party rules and regulations.

In their letter, the aggrieved Chairmen stated that they had successfully conducted sectional elections, with results compiled and prepared for submission to the National Secretariat. However, despite following due process, the District Chairman and Secretary General allegedly declined to receive the election results, creating uncertainty around the outcome.

In response, the Chairmen forwarded the compiled results to the National Secretariat through the District Young Generation Leader, ensuring that the party leadership is informed. Additionally, copies of the election results were shared with the Constituency, District, and Regional Secretariats, in line with SLPP’s electoral procedures.

The incident has raised concerns among party members, with calls for the SLPP National Secretariat to intervene.
