The Gambia authorities have pledged full security support to ensure the smooth hosting of the All People’s Congress (APC) Diaspora Retreat, scheduled to take place from December 19th to 22nd, 2024, at the Kairaba Beach Hotel.
The retreat, themed “Uniting for Progress,” aims to foster unity and strategic collaboration among APC members worldwide.
The event, hosted by the APC Gambia Chapter, marks a historic milestone for the party’s diaspora engagements.
Mr. Dauda Blaq Lugbu Kamara, The APC Diaspora 6th Region Organizing Secretary disclosed that the strategic decision to host the retreat in The Gambia underscores its accessibility as a central location for APC members, particularly those from Sierra Leone and across the African continent.
Mr. Dauda Blaq furthered that retreat seeks to unite APC stakeholders, supporters, and affiliate bodies globally to collectively work towards the party’s growth and resilience. It provides a platform to discuss critical issues, solidify relationships, and prepare for future challenges.
According to the organizers, the gathering is open to all, including:
●Party leadership in Sierra Leone
●Senior stakeholders and veterans
●Former and current Members of Parliament
●Mayors, district, and regional chairpersons
●Women’s Congress, Youth Congress, NUAS, and social media bloggers
APC supporters, whether formally invited or not, are encouraged to attend and actively participate in this important event.
The four-day event will feature various activities:
Day 1 (Dec 19th): Meet-and-greet session with social activities to welcome participants.
Day 2 (Dec 20th): Opening ceremony followed by committee sessions.
Day 3 (Dec 21st): Outdoor activities and a key stakeholders’ meeting to discuss strategies for party unity and progress.
Day 4 (Dec 22nd): Closing ceremony and a fundraising session from 8:00 PM to 4:00 AM.
The event will see active participation from APC chapters across Africa, including representatives from:
