The government of Sierra Leone Presidential Hajj Task Force has informed the general Public that Intending pilgrims that still wish to participate in the 2024 Hajj fare are by this release advised to proceed and pay before Monday 24 April at 2Pm Prompt.
The Press release further confirmed that the cost of Performing Pilgrimage to the Holy land of Mecca for 2024 is US$7,000 [Seven thousand Dollars] or its equivalent in Leones
In 2023, the Sierra Leone Presidential Hajj Task Force informed the public that the cost of performing the pilgrimage to the holy land of Mecca was a at a cost of $6,700 or it equivalent to Leones. However, 2024 Price is $7000 an additional Whooping $300 increment. This sudden increment compared to other countries has left many Sierra Leoneans questioning the sincerity behind these charges.
However, to ensure transparency and ease for intending Pilgrims, National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) set the cost of Hajj for the year 2024 in Dollars at $5,692.25.
The Commission shut down its system on the 29th March and barring other payments to be accommodated.
Below are the guidelines for the 2024 application for Sierra Leoneans
- REPORT TO THE PRESIDENTIAL HAJJ TASK FORCE SECRETARIAT, OLD GYM HOUSE, BANK OF SERRA LEONE COMPLEX, KINGTOM TO COLLECT APPLICATION FORM, COMPLETE AND RETURN WITH A PASSPORT WHICH SHOULD BE VALID FOR AT LEAST ONE YEAR BEFORE TRAVEL.
- GO THROUGH SCREENING AT THE SECRETARIAT AND COLLECT SLIP FOR PAYMENT AT THE SIERRA LEONE COMMERCIAL BANK INTO THE FOLLOWING ACCOUNTS:
a. NATIONAL PILGRIMAGE ACCOUNT SIERRA LEONE COMMERCIAL BANK US$ ACCT NO. 003001039708412187 SWIFT CODE: SLCBSLFR
b. NATIONAL PILGRIMAGE ACCOUNT SIERRA LEONE COMMERCIAL BANK LEONES (SLL) ACCT NO. 003001039708112166
- RETURN PAY-IN SLIP TO THE HAJJ SECRETARIAT AND RECEIVE FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS.
- ALL INTENDING PILGRIMS ARE ADVISED TO MAKE PAYMENTS ON OR BEFORE MONDAY 22ND APRIL, 2024.
- PILGRIMS ABROAD SHOULD INCLUDE BANK CHARGES IN THEIR PAYMENTS.
