ACC to Probe Former NIB Boss & HR Director

The general public is calling on the Anti-Corruption Commission to probe the massive allegations of corruption involving the former Executive Director of the National Investment Board, Dr. Marda Mustapha and the current Human Resource Director, Madam Jestina Kanu. 

This came as a result of a report already submitted to the ACC disclosing the surreptitious move of the former Executive Director by bypassing Board Members of the National Investment Board and other line ministries and appointed Madam Jestina Kanu to the rank of Human Resource Director instead of the designated position of Human Resource Manager. 

According to the report which has already been submitted to the ACC, due to the unfair advantage accorded to Madam Jestina Kanu by the former Executive Director of the National Investment Board, led to serious waste of taxpayer’s money, adding that, according to the organogram of the office, the position for which Madam Jestina Kanu was recruited for was Human Resource Manager and not Human Resource Director. The report further highlighted that, instead Madam Jestina Kanu receiving salaries for the position of Human Resource Manager, she has been receiving salaries for the position of Human Resource Director, contrary to the position for which she was recruited. 

A renowned development expert, who preferred anonymity at this stage, has vehemently criticized the act as inhuman and a disservice to the state, adding that, a small unit like the National Investment Board is not expected to have a Human Resource Director. Therefore, he has called on the ACC to investigate the matter thoroughly and bring the perpetrators to justice.  

As we go to press, all efforts made to get the reactions of the former Executive Director of the National Investment Board,  Marda Mustapha and the current Human Resource Director Madam Jestina Kanu have proven futile but we hope to get their response soon.
