Orange SL has appreciated members of the fourth estate on their roles and contributions towards the company’s successes and achievements, on Monday 11th December 2023, at their Head Office in Freetown.
The Orange H2 Media Engagement session featured presentation from departmental heads, highlighting their end-of-year reports.
Madam Danetta Young, General Secretary of Orange SL described the day as a symbolic moment for Orange SL because they recognized the significance of the media and appreciate their unwavering commitment for being accurate, reliable and giving out timely news to the public about the company.
Speaking on the rationale behind the engagement with the media, Alpha Bundu, Keynote Speaker of the event revealed that the program is geared towards informing media practitioners about key achievements of Orange SL, interact as well as appreciate Journalists for their diverse roles played in ensuring the public is well informed about their activities, offers, investment as well as to share their ambition as a company.
“Today, If Orange SL is Considered a reference partner, and household name in terms of leading digitization, with an improved voice and data Package Plus better reach/Coverage, we owe it to the amplifying role of the media. I will confidently say with shared opinion that Communication is a need that has become a necessity. We know we are not perfect, but for that reason we are committed to making sure that the products and services we offer meet the needs of our customers and all Citizens of this country. Today everyone can create news. The platform for interactions are easily accessible. But whether it is traditional or social media – the sharing of information has become faster and relevant . This especially for Social Media has become integral part of our daily lives, and it has also transformed the way businesses interact with their customers . It is through this platform that you demonstrates the value you create for us to reach our customers in every community, hear from our customers, reach where we do not hear, know how our customer feel by building with you a quick and easy way to connect with our customers that ultimately helps us to create, a relationship of trust, loyalty and transparency,” he stated
He assured Journalists that the rights of their Customers become the duty of the company by making sure that every voice of a customer that carries an Orange SIM is valued.
In his Corporate Highlight, Kamal Abass pointed out that Orange SL has showcased its unwavering commitment to ensure Job opportunities are provided for Sierra Leoneans.
Representing Orange Media Partners, Alhaji Dauda Musa Bangura, CEO of Owl Newspaper, pointed out that the media has been a reliable partner to Orange. He emphasized that if Orange is doing well today the media has been pivotal in supporting the company to achieve this success. He assured the company that they will continue to give their necessary supports. He acknowledge that though the economy is facing serious challenges, he encourage to continue supporting it media Partners and Promoters.
Madam Mabel Mason, expressed thanks and appreciation to media practioners for their unwavering support to the company. She acknowledges that if the company is exceling in terms of their brand credibility it is as a result of the support they have been receiving from the media.
