UBA SL, is extremely breaking the ugly narrative of traditional banking in the country. The UBA-SL has been able to detect twenty thousand dollars counterfeits. During the send-off of the outgoing MD/CEO of the bank Usman Isiaka, the new MD/CEO, Mohamed Alhajie Samoua assured customers and staff at the event that the bank remains committed in providing excellence customer service to its customers.
Meanwhile, this is good News for such a bank to detect twenty thousand counterfeits dollars especially a busy world like ours, it takes professionalism, and commitment for such revelation to manifest and UBA has set the pace for the banking industry and Sierra Leone at large.
Furthermore, UBA-SL has been a bank of excellent and an enviable institution that many other banks imitate for the enthusiastic healthy working environment in the bank and for their steadfastness for growth, expansion and excellence of the banking industry in Sierra Leone.
Sierra Leone traditional banking system such as forming a long queue, there was no digitalization in the banking industry at the time, if you were living in a village where there was no bank probably some five miles from that village to where there is bank you have to come to deposit or withdraw money and most often the interior people find this very challenging since most of them were farmers and little they know about what it means to keep money in the bank and this was an obstacle for the banks in the country not to experience growth and the bank also only cared about their Merchants and government for their banking industry, but today, this old system has been changed to a digital system where services are convenient for customers as we now have digital money operating platforms like Afrimoney & Orange Money, where sending money and receiving money is very much convenient for both sender and the receiver whether through your bank account or phone wallet.
Meanwhile, UBA Sierra Leone being a tribe, had got edged over the traditional banking system in the country and it is a recognized institution in the country and beyond, as it is also operating with other digital money platforms for the comfortability of their customers.
However, with all the comfort and quality services provided by UBA one of its customers came to deposit twenty thousand counterfeits dollars which was detected by one of the UBA Staff at their headquarter on Charlotte Street on Tuesday 21 February 2023.
Notwithstanding, the bank modern inspiration and improvement has made another historic day on Tuesday 21 February 2023 in Sierra Leone and this could be an excellent drive for other banks to imitate so that they too could help and save guide themselves and their customers’ monies from mischievous customers. UBA Sierra Leone has done it and that is the resilience of this TRIBE.

This love was exhibited on February 14 this year when four customers were emerged as winners for the UBA Visa Prepaid Card.
