The Political Parties Registration Commission in a press release issued on Wednesday 16th November 2022, has fired warnings to the chairman of the All Peoples Congress (APC) Interim Transitional Governance Committee (ITGC) Alfred Peter Conteh, over his attempt to dictate to the commissioner and misconduct in their conference room.

“Your attempt at dictating to the Commission on, how it conducts its business, is an affront to its authority and thus unacceptable. We are a State Institution with a defined mandate and that must be respected by you and all that we do. You seem to be under the delusion that, the Commission is under obligation to endorse your decisions without questions. This borders around derision and frightening ignorance of the Commission’s Statutory mandate”. Said PPRC. This came after a letter was written to the PPRC by Alfred P. Conteh, on the 14th of November 2022. Its contents relate to the duty of the commission and are reflective of his misconduct in the commission’s conference room. Though the letter was not addressed to anybody.

In recent weeks, the party have party have been clouded by struggles that are said to have been engineered by the Chairman of the ITGC Alfred P. Conteh. From APC Students staging protests in the party’s headquarters; to unlawful appointments of Interim Chairmen to various districts, to failure to adhere to an ultimatum. According to a press release issued by PPRC, all of these actions have been duly contested by members of the ITGC.

PRRC stated that “A Political Party can only enquire into our conduct through the Courts, not by frivolous accusations and profanities on social media platforms. The latter only exhibits the peddlers and their handlers’ insecurities, background and upbringing”. They added that they are not hesitant of invoking section (10) of the Political Parties Act No. 3 2002 if such interference and disrespectful conduct continue.

In conclusion, The Political Parties Registration Commission said that; Whilst they await the next barrage of profanities and scathing comments from Alfred P. Conteh’s attack dogs, They will continue to sit in the middle as arbiters, until His Lordship, Justice Adrian J. Fisher provides his directions, through interpretation of his Judgement. No amount of cuss or vilification will stampede them from that posture.
