Saul Alinsky was an American political game changer and community activist that authored the law or rules for radicals published in 1971 by Random House, which offered ten lessons for accomplishing successfully the aim of bonding people into an energetic grassroots or proletarian organization with the power to influence change on a range of concerns.
This writer over the years have been following the debates on social media and political gatherings about who is the fittest to lead the national organizing role of the All Peoples’ Congress Party after the national delegate conference to the 2023 Presidential and general elections in Sierra Leone. Interestingly all of the aspiring candidates for the National Organizing Secretary role of the APC are fit but from all indications and qualities for such important role at this critical moment of the political history of our great party, the Hon Bai Mahmoud Bangura is the fittest.
The question readers might want to ask is – Why is Bai Mhamoud Bangura the fittest for the position of National Organizing Secretary of the APC? Hon Bai Mhamoud Bangura over the years has demonstrated his organizing and administrative competencies as Youth Leader of the APC National Youth League, You Attaché at the Office of the President and Minister of Youth Affairs. Bai Mhamoud Bangura also has the requisite qualifications of a proven knowledge of setting and accomplishing goals, strong communication skills, broad knowledge of the politics of the party, responsiveness to detail, understanding of vote builder and the capability to persuade and inspire members at all levels of the party.
Additionally, people that have interacted with Hon Bai Mhamoud Bangura will tell you that, he has a clear idea of his priorities in terms of accomplishing great things for the APC party. Hon Bai Mhamoud Bangura most times do not only perform, he also work selflessly to achieve the vision of the party and believes in the values of the party.During the trying periods of the APC, Bai Mahmoud Bangura did not stop waiting for the perfect time to organize the party in various capacities, but took the moment and maximize it to make some progress for the party. This very energetic gentleman do not see the role of organizing the APC as an option; for him it is a matter of fundamental survival and distinct competitive advantage of the party.

Therefore, for Bai Mahmoud, the role of National Organizing Secretary of the APC is a journey, not an end because he will continue to create the awareness for a unified party, uphold the beliefs of the party and show high degree of exceptional consistency in promoting the values of the APC. Many youths and grassroots members of the party interviewed by this writer say that they strongly believe they will express a sigh of relief the day Bai Mahmoud Bangura is announced the National Organizing Secretary of the party because for them they see him as an Organizer and not an agonizer.
Most of the grassroots in the APC are of the view that Bai Mahmoud is a simple personality that do not discriminate party members, which is in variance with the theory of Leo Babauta that, “Simplicity Boils down to two things: Identify the essential, and eliminate the rest.” The grassroots of the party wants to seize this opportunity to appreciate the good work of Bai Mhamoud Bangura by unwaveringly throwing their supports to his candidature for the position of National Organizing Secretary of our great party and this supports the theory of Eleanor Roosevelt that, “when you give joy to other people, you get more joy in return.” Being kind or generous is one of the qualities of an organizer and pays the highest price in politics and this supports the theory of Mister Rogers that, “there are three ways to ultimate success: The first way is to be kind.
The second way is to be kind. The third way is to be kind.” Success is not a cheap commodity; you work for it and deserve it and for Bai Mamud failure is not part of his success equation although he sees it as motivation to continue to do more to succeed. According to Henry David Thoreau, “Success usually comes to those who are too busy looking for it.” Therefore, having Hon Bai Mhamoud Bangura who is seriously busy looking for success will be a game changer for the APC party in the coming 2023 Presidential and general elections. Finally, this writer will end with the wise quotes of Henry Ford that, “Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.”
