News broke on Saturday 9th April, 2022 at around 4:00pm about the death of erstwhile Deputy Ambassador to Germany and a seasoned and prolific Journalist, Jonathan Leigh.
Before his shocking death, Mr. Leigh has been a top-notch Journalist working at different media institutions in Sierra Leone before eventually becoming owner and publisher of The Observer Newspaper for several years.
Before his death, he also served as Deputy Ambassador to Germany, following his appointment by President Julius Maada Bio following his election victory in 2018.
Mr. Leigh died at the Connaught Hospital following a brief illness. He will be sadly missed by his children, relatives and numerous colleagues in the media.
His demise is indeed a sad day for Journalists and Journalism in Sierra Leone.
