Orange-SL Holds First Digital Retreat with Media

Sierra Leone’s leading Telecommunication Company, Orange Sierra Leone, on Thursday 9th December 2012, held its first digital media retreat at the Country Lodge conference hall in Freetown.

The event brought together journalists from across the country to assess the the services provided by the company and its relationship with the media using the digital platform- www.beekast.live.

According to the Head of Media and Public Relations of Orange-SL, Madam Annie Wonnie, the media has contributed immensely in supporting the operations of their company. She went on to say that this year, they have experienced convivial relationship with the media than before. Madam Wonnie thanked journalists for publishing their articles and writing about activities of the company.

“But today, we want to appreciate the media for telling our stories extensively. The media has so far been able to take our stories across the country. We have managed to close the gap,” she noted. She also pointed out that the digital press retreat was the first in the country.

“We have set the pace today and others should follow,” she said, adding: “I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year.”

The journalists, during the session, extolled the management of Orange Mobile Company for being magnanimous in not only handling the media itself, but also in the provision of quality services to its customers across the country.

On behalf of the media, Former Commissioner Alhaji Dauda Musa Bangura, The CEO of the Owl Newspaper gave the vote of thanks. He urged Orange-SL to continue to encourage the media with more extensive engagements.
