Regional Commander – East Unveils Work Done So Far

In as much as the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) is there to prevent crime, to protect life and property the Regional Commander East, Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Mustapha Solomon Kambeh on Tuesday 20th July 2021, updated journalists about his operations so far in the Eastern Region. The press conference was held at his office on Maxwell Khobe Street, Kenema City.

According to AIG Mustapha Solomon Kambeh, he took over police leadership in the Eastern Region on 23rd March 2021 to ensure safety and security is maintained in that part of the country irrespective of colour, gender, tribe, religion or political affiliation. He added that he is loves listening to radio stations within his jurisdiction and beyond, noting that upon his arrival in Kenema he met some challenges such as political infighting, and many others.

AIG Mustapha Solomon Kambeh reiterated that COVID-19 is real and can kill. He encouraged everyone to abide by all the rules and regulations of COVID-19 as the police is working alongside the DiCOVERC to enforce the COVID-19 rules and regulations. He encouraged all residents to use face masks, observe hand washing, social distancing, and above all obey the curfew.

He added that, checkpoints within his jurisdiction are in full operation by checking vehicles and motorbikes for different issues among others.

He maintained that they have raised about Le7,000,000 for the DiCOVERC in the form of fines paid by defaulters of COVID-19 regulations.

AIG Mustapha Solomon Kambeh went on to state that, the police patrol team is at work and called on all  to do all what they  can to maintain law and order in collaboration with the community safety volunteers with whom he holds regular meetings to ensure that they help the police carry out their operations in a holistic manner.

He maintained that, the safety of the public is of importance and is therefore calling on very resident to be law-abiding and assist the police perform their duty to the best of their ability.
