President Julius Maada Bio has announced a series of appointments to key government ministries, diplomatic missions and public institutions, subject to parliamentary approval where applicable.

The appointments, announced by the Office of the President at State House, include changes to the leadership of the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ministry of Employment, Labour and Social Security, and other strategic institutions.

Mr. Karefa A. F. Kargbo has been appointed Minister of Finance, while Mohamed Rahman Swarray has been named the new Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Umaru Napoleon Koroma has been appointed Minister of Employment, Labour and Social Security, with Jeneba J. Bangura appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Other ministerial appointments include Dr. Steven A. Jusu as Deputy Minister of Energy II and Foday Mousa Fofanah as Deputy Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources.

At the National Revenue Authority (NRA), Abu M. Kanneh has been appointed Commissioner General, while Edmond Nonie has been named Deputy Commissioner General II.

The President has also appointed Prince A. Bull Luseni as Executive Director of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.

In the diplomatic service, Prof. Foday M. Jaward has been appointed Ambassador of Sierra Leone to the State of Qatar.

President Bio further appointed Sheku A.F. Bangura and Timothy Musa Kabba as Presidential Advisers.

The appointments also extend to key public institutions. Dr. Sartie Kenneh has been appointed Chairman of the National Public Health Agency, while Dr. Donald Alpha Bash-Taqi will serve as Chairman of the Tobacco and Nicotine Control Council.

Prof. Gibril Fadlu-Deen has also been appointed Chairman of the Teaching Hospitals Complex Administration Board.

The Office of the President stated that the appointments take effect subject to the approval of Parliament where such approval is required.
