MORE TROUBLE FOR SLPP AS …. 17 Former Flagbearer Aspirants Assure Dr. Samura Kamara

Former APC flagbearer aspirants on Thursday 2 March 2023 paid courtesy call on the overwhelmingly elected leader and presidential candidate of the All People’s Congress (APC), Dr. Samura Kamara, at his campaign office Wellington Street Freetown.

They were seventeen (17) in number including big names such as Dr. Richard Conteh, Dr. Keifalah Marah, Dr. Alimamy Petito Koroma, Alhaji Ibrahim Kemoh Sesay, Ansumana U. Koroma (AUK) and Amb. Omrie Golley among others.

Assuring Dr. Samura Kamara in no uncertain terms, these seventeen (17) former flagbearer aspirants expressed their unwavering, undiluted and unflinching support for the leader and presidential candidate of the main opposition APC party adding that they are even more than red and ready to close ranks and join shoulders with him with the ultimate goal which is to resoundingly win the June 24th2023 multitier elections thereby taking back the APC led by Dr. Samura Kamara to State House. 

Seconder to the race of the flag bearer Dr. Richard Konteh said that he was happy to meet with Dr. Samura Kamara and was there to let him know that the race to lead the party was over and he would support his campaign trail throughout the length and breadth of the country. He was joined by third place Dr. Kaifala Marah. The financial technocrat who was initially loaned from the Commonwealth to Sierra Leone assured the Dr. Samura that the journey to State House was all their dream individually but now becomes the sole mantle of all of them. 

Dr. Kaifala Marah assured Dr. Samura Kamara that he will use his social, economic and political connections to sell his candidacy across the country where there was no a reach and convince voters and places about the candidate. 

The meeting also had a mix of geographical representation as Amb. Omrie Golley, former Ambassador to South Korea and recently one of the presidential candidates that made surprises at the APC – NDC, expressed optimism with the candidate and assured him of conducting the South-eastern corridor campaign. 

They continued that as the convention is now over, they are calling on all their various supporters who have believed in them to throw their weight behind the democratically elected presidential candidate, Dr. Samura Kamara, with a view to win the June 24th elections on the first ballot and remove this current rotten government out of power. 

Making his remarks, Dr. Samura Kamara, in his capacity as leader and presidential candidate of the APC party, welcomed the delegation in the name of comradeship and noted his many thanks and appreciations for the courageous, bold step taken by the 17 former flagbearer aspirants, whom he described as fellow comrades in the struggles, to pay him a courtesy call on him and register their great support to him in order to secure victory in the June 24th 2023 elections.

“This is not only a symbolic demonstration or assurance of support to me as Dr. Samura Kamara being the flagbearer of the party, but it is literally a throw of support and commitment to the party because I Dr. Samura Kamara is a representation of the APC carrying its ticket as presidential candidate. Therefore, I am closely looking forward to working with you all before, during and after the June 24th2023 elections,” Dr. Samura Kamara noted. 

He concluded by respectfully and most humbly calling all party stalwarts including the former flagbearer aspirants present to look at the bigger picture which undoubtedly to redeem the ordinary people of the nation from the SLPP failed governance system adding that it is an opportunity the APC party cannot afford to miss in these elections thereby moving with the development strides and efforts from where former President Koroma stopped. 

And it all ended with the APC victory song.
