Islamic Organisations Condemn Desecration of the Holy Quran

FORUM OF ISLAMIC ORGANISATIONS FOR PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE IN SIERRA LEONE CONDEMN THE DESECRATION OF THE HOLY QURAN

PRESS RELEASE – 16th Sept, 2020

The Forum of Islamic Organisations for Peaceful Coexistence in Sierra Leone wishes to register its concern over an incident at the Masjid Na’im Blackhall Road, Freetown in which the Holy Quran was desecrated.

While we members of the Forum strongly condemn this act we are reminded that Masjids are houses of Allah and that the Holy Quran is his divine Book, Holy and Sacred. Therefore to disrespect both the house of Allah and His divine revelation is tantamount to challenging the authority of Allah Almighty and the perpetrators of such unsavoury act will face the full wrath of Allah Almighty this world and the hereafter.

We are calling on the authorities to treat this matter with all the seriousness it deserves and act accordingly.

Islam is a religion of peace and it teaches us to respect all places of worship and all divine revelations. Therefore we should all endeavour to promote peace. Sierra Leone more than any other time needs sustainable peace and the only way to achieve this is to respect each other.
