As Fuel Crisis Heightens… LEONCO CEO Assures The Nation

Steady, reliable supply of petroleum products is central to all economic activities in a country because without them, power stations that depend on fossil fuel will not work, transportation would grind to a halt, so will manufacturing.It is in this light that within the spirit and letter of the Local Content Policy, Leone Oil Company `(LEONCO) has time after time in the recent past proved to be the oil marketer with a highly developed sense of social responsibility by ensuring that its filling stations are always open, even during crisis.

LEONCO has done so again remarkably during this ongoing fuel crisis by keeping its filling stations open across the country, while the LEONCO Managing Direector, Ibrahim Durosime Cole assures the nation that the fuel shortage in the country will end soon, as a consignment of fuel that was delayed is on the way and expected this week or early next week.

Service to the nation is LEONCO’s watchword. While all the other fuel outlets nationwide were closed, LEONCO’s outlets in Freetown and other parts of the country remained open, thereby greatly helping to mitigate the adverse effects of the shortage on the economy, transportation, businesses and homes. With the oil and gas sector at the forefront of creating sustainable energy solutions, reducing energy emissions and enhancing of energy efficiency, LEONCO’s invaluable contribution to the Sierra Leone economy since its formation in 1996 is the fact that energy is a key source of economic growth because many production and consumption activities involve energy as a basic input.

Under the astute leadership of the Managing Director, Ibrahim Durosime Cole, with a view to increasing its visibility and services to the nation, LEONCO continues to expand its outlets nationwide with the building and operation of new filling stations.

In the capital Freetown, the last few years have seen the company open state-of-the-art filling stations at Belgium (King Jimmy), Congo Cross, Lumley and, most recently, Regent. The second largest importer and marketer of high grade petroleum products, LEONCO, is proud of its 100 percent Sierra Leonean ownership status.
