39 man delegation of the Star Sport Academy has left for Turkey on Monday to participate in the Antalya international Youth Cup in Turkey
This tournament will provide valuable experience and exposure for the academy which is based in Sierra Leone
Junior World Cup Antalya is a large-scale international youth football cup in Turkey. Invited clubs will participate in the tournament, which will emulate the World Cup format.
Matches will be held in sports complexes that have hosted national team matches, Junior World Cup finals, and pop star concerts.
The tournament will also features participation of leading Turkish and European football academies .
A delegation of football scouts from Türkiye, Slovakia, Sudan, and Bulgaria earlier embarked on a talent hunt mission in Sierra Leone, as they seek to uncover potential football stars from the West African nation.
The scouts paid a courtesy visit to the President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Thomas Daddy Brima, at the football Secretariat in Freetown on Tuesday, October 24.
This visit follows the successful U17 and U19 talent identification tournament hosted by the Star Sport Academy at the Southern Arena Stadium in Bo City. The primary objective of this tournament was to identify and nurture young talents who could potentially make a mark on the international football stage.
