The Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) has disclosed significant developments regarding the investigation into the murder of journalist Samuel Brima Mattia. The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) have identified and apprehended key suspects linked to the tragic incident.
Joseph M. Lamin, the Station Manager of VOPAD Radio 96.5FM, has emerged as the primary suspect in the case. Lamin allegedly confessed to masterminding the killing, enlisting several individuals, including an accomplice known as Morlai, to execute the crime against his deputy, Mattia.
In a swift operation, the police detained the purported hired killers, who are now providing crucial information to assist in the ongoing investigation. SLAJ has commended the police for their swift action and dedication to uncovering the truth.
