First Day in Cappadocia, an eye on Martian landscape in the Dervent Valley. Stop at Pasabag’s “Fairy Chimneys”, where the voice of the wind harmonizes with songs of the fairies. From here, we pause at Avanos Centre of Terracotta Art which is a popular destination because of its attractive old town with cobbled streets. I saw the need for our country to provide the necessary opportunities for our tourism sector to get the required attention.
Visiting the famous Goreme Open Air Museum reminded me of our days at FBC… to see the best examples of Byzantine Art in Cappadocia. People of Goreme, at the heart of the Cappadocia Region just like when we be de gore at Block C and J.
These Christian sanctuaries contain many examples of Byzantine Art from the post-iconoclastic period. These frescoes are a unique artistic achievement from this period. I completed my first tour with a visit to the great Uchisar Rock-Castlee with great Human History and panoramic view of the valleys of Cappadocia.
Getting set Classic MDC Cave Hotel for the Hot Air Balloon Tour tomorrow.
