Over one thousand undergraduate students of FBC, the University of Sierra Leone have matriculated on 27th May 2021 at the Ajayi Crowther Amphitheatre, FBC.
In her welcoming remarks, the second Assistant to the Deputy Vice-chancellor, FBC, Dr. Aisha Fofanah Ibrahim congratulated the matriculants and told them to remain committed to all academic activities. She informed them about the appropriate channels to express grievances and complaints relating to sexual or financial exploitation or any other forms of abuse.
The Acting University Registrar, Mr. Prince. A. J. Williams presented the students worthy to take oath to the Acting Vice-chancellor and Principal. He encouraged the students to abide by the laws, ordinances, rules and regulations governing the conduct of students in the University of Sierra Leone.
The Acting Vice-chancellor and Principal, who also represented the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of FBC, Professor John Kargbo further congratulated the matriculants and urged them to be law abiding. He expressed his frustration about the violent ways some students are behaving in the on going Students’ Union electoral activities. He described the Administrative structures of the University and the functions of some of the offices. He encouraged them to take their course work with seriousness since that is the primary objective of coming to the University.
The University Marshall, Dr Fatmata Taqi requested the Acting Deputy Registrar FBC, Mr. I.A. Conteh to organise a short session for those matriculants who were late to the take their oath to do so immediately before signing the Register.
