The Sierra Leone Teaching Service Commission (SLTSC) has officially announced the commencement of its nationwide recruitment and deployment of 3,300 teachers for the 2025/2026 academic year, starting Monday, 14th July 2025.
In a public notice issued on 11th July, the Commission emphasized that only candidates who have successfully passed the Teacher Licensing Examinations are eligible to apply. The move is part of the Commission’s continued efforts to promote professionalism and improve standards within the country’s education sector.
According to the notice, the application process will be conducted online via the Teacher Management Information System (TMIS) portal. Eligible applicants are advised to visit their respective TSC District Offices to complete the recruitment and NASSIT forms—particularly those without NASSIT numbers.A comprehensive list of available teaching positions will be published at the District Offices and on the Commission’s official website.
Applicants are required to present electronic copies of their National Identification Card, bank account details, and—optionally—a recommendation letter from their preferred school. The Commission also advised applicants who previously submitted forms in May or June 2025 to reapply, as new submissions are required for this current cycle.
The deadline for the submission of all online applications is Tuesday, 29th July 2025.In a firm warning, the SLTSC reiterated that the recruitment process is entirely free of charge.
“The SLTSC does not request or accept any form of payment for teacher recruitment,” the notice stressed, adding that any attempt to solicit or offer bribes constitutes a violation of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Act.
