SLFA Provides $207,000 Support to Men’s and Women’s League Boards

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has provided a total of $207,000 in financial support to the country’s men’s and women’s league boards to strengthen the administration and smooth running of domestic football competitions in Sierra Leone.

According to a press release issued on Saturday, 7 March, the funding is aimed at improving the organization and operational capacity of the country’s league structures.

Out of the total amount, the SLFA allocated $117,000 to the Men’s Premier League Board, while $90,000 was provided to the Women’s Premier League Board to support the effective management of their respective competitions.

The football governing body stated that the financial assistance forms part of its ongoing commitment to developing and sustaining competitive league football across the country. The support is expected to help both league boards improve operational efficiency, ensure better coordination of matches, and strengthen the overall organization of domestic football activities.

Speaking on the initiative, SLFA President Babadi Kamara emphasized that strengthening domestic leagues remains a key priority for his administration.

He noted that well-structured and competitive leagues are essential for the growth and development of football in the country, adding that the association will continue to support initiatives that promote professionalism and effective management within the game.

The SLFA expressed confidence that the funding will contribute to enhancing league administration and creating a more organized and competitive football environment for players, clubs, and supporters across the country.
