The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babadi Kamara, has made a personal contribution to East End Lions Football Club’s ongoing artificial turf construction at the Trade Centre field in Freetown.

The donation includes a modern substitute bench for both teams, seating for match commissioners and coordinators, and 30 bags of crumb rubber, an essential material used to improve the durability and comfort of synthetic pitches.

Handing over the equipment to Club Chairman Anthony Junior Navo, Kamara praised East End Lions for taking the lead in developing their own football facility and urged other Premier League clubs to follow suit. He highlighted that proper infrastructure is a key requirement under CAF Club Licensing regulations, describing his gesture as a personal commitment to strengthening grassroots football.

Chairman Navo expressed gratitude, noting that Kamara is the first individual to support the project, inspired by the Southern Arena in Bo, another private initiative led by the SLFA President.

Both men also appealed to the Government of Sierra Leone and the Chinese Embassy to fast-track the renovation of Siaka Stevens Stadium, emphasizing its importance for hosting international sporting events.
