The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), 𝐌𝐫. 𝐁𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐝𝐢 𝐊𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐚, on Monday, 1st December 2025, paid a compassionate visit to the injured players of Koya Queens FC at the 34 Military Hospital in Freetown.

The players sustained severe injuries in a road accident while travelling to Kenema to honour their league fixture against Kahunla Rangers on Saturday. During the visit, President Kamara interacted with the players and medical staff, offering words of encouragement and solidarity on behalf of the SLFA.

Consultant Physician, Dr. Joseph Edwin Kanu, confirmed that the players are responding positively to treatment and are stable. He further commended the medical team for their swift intervention and professionalism, noting that the players are expected to be discharged pending a scheduled X-ray procedure on Tuesday.

Speaking to the players, President Kamara praised their courage and unwavering commitment to the sport:

“We cannot wait to see you all back in your boots and jerseys, winning games for your club. You have consistently demonstrated resilience representing Sierra Leone in international competitions, and we look forward to seeing you on the pitch again soon.”

He emphasised the SLFA’s dedication to safeguarding the welfare of footballers, especially women in the game, and assured Koya Queens FC of the Association’s continued support throughout the recovery process.

The visit by President Kamara reaffirmed the SLFA’s commitment to promoting athlete welfare and fostering a supportive environment for women’s football development in Sierra Leone.
