Sierra Leoneans Stage Massive Protest in Brussels ...In an effort to save Democracy

Hundreds of patriotic Sierra Leoneans in Belgium and other parts of Europe, have on Monday 24th July 2023, staged a massive protest in heart of Brussels, Belgium.

According to them, the protest is geared towards saving the fragile Democracy in Sierra Leone which they believe is about to go extinct.

After the broad daylight robbery by the ECSL and the SLPP to steal the VOTES and the WILL of the people on the 24th June 2023 Multi-tier elections, Sierra Leoneans from all over Europe (including France, Germany, England, Belgium, etc) massively converged at the European Parliament in Brussels to tender a letter of dissatisfaction and rejection of the Maada Bio Presidency and the fraudulent manner in which the 2023 elections were conducted; the violation of peoples’ fundamental human rights for the past five years, arbitrary killings, the bastardazation of the 1991 constitution, and the impunity displayed by Maada Bio and the ECSL.

This singular act by Sierra Leoneans in protest to save democracy in Sierra Leone by demanding for freedom, justice, fair elections, and the unrestrained right to a transparent election results tabulation is viewed by many across the world as one of the greatest patriotic moves ever in the history of Sierra Leone.

The protesters in their quest to protect, defend, and safeguard democracy in Sierra Leone, seek through the European Union and the European Parliament to intervene and protect the will of the people. It could be recalled that credible international observers including the CARTER CENTER, the EU, the US Embassy and even the National Elections Watch (NEW) which is a reputable local observer, have raised concerns, discontent, and disapproval of the entire electioneering process.

The European Parliament has consented to urgently look into their concerns and do everything possible to restore the tenets and principles of democracy in Sierra Leone.
