Sierra Leone has emerged victorious in its bid to host the Pan Africa Hash (PAH) 2027, after a hotly contested process in Ghana that involved 34 African countries.

This landmark achievement cements Freetown as the official host city, marking a new milestone for the Sierra Hash House Harriers (Sierra H4) and positioning Sierra Leone as a premier hub for continental gatherings.

The success of the bid was made possible through the strategic backing of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, led by Hon. Nabeela Farida Tunis.

The Ministry signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sierra H4, provided a bus to transport hashers on their journey to Liberia en route to Ghana, and reinforced the campaign with an official endorsement letter from Permanent Secretary Judith C. Jones.

Adding to this momentum was a powerful video message from Minister Tunis, which resonated strongly with the Pan Africa Hash family and strengthened Sierra Leone’s case.

In securing this victory, Sierra Leone has committed to delivering a world-class hashing experience. From breathtaking beach runs and lush rainforest trails to vibrant city circles and legendary after-parties, Freetown will showcase the country’s unmatched hospitality, culture, and adventure.

This achievement not only highlights the energy and vision of Sierra H4 but also underscores Sierra Leone’s growing reputation as a tourism powerhouse and trusted destination for international events.

As the countdown begins, the message is clear: Sierra Leone is ready, Sierra H4 is prepared, and Pan Africa Hash 2027 will make history in Freetown.
