Sgt. 14483 Musa Sidikie Swarray, attached to the Mile 91 Division of the Sierra Leone Police, has been dismissed from the force following a disciplinary hearing over unlawful possession of illegal drugs and other related offences.
The decision was issued by the Director of Professional Standards, Hastings, under the provisions of the Police Discipline Regulations 2001. Sgt. Swarray was charged with multiple offences, including:
Improper practice, contrary to Paragraph 9, Rule 31(f) of the discipline code.
Conduct prejudicial to good order and discipline, contrary to Paragraph 9, Rule 47.
Failing to comply with standing orders issued by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), contrary to Paragraph 9, Rule 43.
Any other act in violation of Paragraph 9, Rule 47 of the discipline code.
Following a careful review of the report submitted by the Presiding Officer of the disciplinary court, the Director of Professional Standards upheld the decision of the court. Sgt. Swarray was found guilty on all counts, and his dismissal from the police force was confirmed with immediate effect.
The Administrative Officer of Mile 91 Division has been directed to retrieve all police property from the dismissed officer, including his identification card and badges. The Head of Human Resources has also been notified to regularize his personnel records accordingly.
