Having revived their Beach Volleyball programme at the CAVB African Nations Beach Volleyball Championships Seniors in Agadir, Morocco earlier this month the National Volleyball Federation of Sierra Leone has last evening dispatched a six-man advanced delegation to Banjul, the Gambia to compete at the Zone 2 Zonal Beach Volleyball Championships slated from 1st – 5th September 2022.
The delegation comprised the Senior Men’s and Women’s teams namely John Sorie Kamara, Ishmael Bangura, Gladys M Fofanah and Fatmata Binta Bah.
Meanwhile, two coaches Abdul Razack Kamara and Bernadette Fofanah are among the delegation. The competition is been held on the fringes of the Zonal Annual General Assembly and would be supervised by the Zonal Vice President for Beach, Ahmed Khanou with Sorie Kamara as Competition Director.
It is the second series of national and international activities scheduled by the national federation for its annual activity plan.
This event would be followed by a refresher training of match officials and coaches, an international training programme for both referees and coaches ahead of the NATIONAL INDOOR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS to be held in Freetown in November.
