In a major development for the country’s beverage industry, Sierra Bottling Group (SBG) has officially acquired a 98.07% majority shareholding of Sierra Leone Brewery Limited (SLBL). The acquisition, finalized recently, marks a significant step toward modernizing operations, strengthening long-term sustainability, and boosting Sierra Leone’s industrial output.

SBG has assumed full operational control of SLBL effective 1st December 2025, introducing new systems, strengthened organizational structures, and a renewed focus on innovation, employee development, and community engagement.

“This milestone represents our commitment to delivering quality products, supporting local development, and investing in the future of Sierra Leone,” a statement from SBG read.

The group expressed optimism about the future, noting that with the support of employees, partners, and loyal consumers, the new era will focus on creating opportunities and “brewing new possibilities” across the country.

The acquisition is expected to enhance efficiency, expand production capabilities, and reinforce SLBL’s position as a key contributor to Sierra Leone’s economic growth.
