One of Sierra Leone’s leading mobile telephone company QCELL has opened its first Customer Care Shop at No. 1 Council Road, in Kailahun Town, making it the first of mobile companies in Sierra Leone to open a permanent Customer Care Shop to serve customers in that part of the country.
After prayers in Muslim and Christian faiths were offered, in her opening address, Mickela Mackintosh QCELL Admin Lead, explained to her large audience that QCELL is always ready to bring the company’s services to the doorsteps of its customers because they believe that technology has the power to change lives, adding that QCELL is determined to ensure it helps change the lives of Sierra Leoneans generally by providing them with the best in terms of mobile phone and internet services at very affordable cost.
She added that QCELL has come a long way in meeting the telecommunications needs of the people in all corners of the country and that Kailahun is their latest and that the company is poised to open the same customer care shops in other parts of the country that do not have such services.
Thanking QCELL for the service extended to his subjects in that part of the country, Paramount Chief Mohammed Samakalu Dubinyeh pointed out that the importance of telecommunications cannot be overlooked or overemphasized because there is no place in that world that has remained underdeveloped when it has adequate and modern telecommunications services. He added that with the QCELL Customer Care Shop opened in the town, the people now have great advantage in connecting with their beloved ones in the country and abroad and also have the opportunity of connecting with their business partners for their respective businesses to grow.
He promised QCELL that his people will make the best use of the services and that he will personally promote the rationale of QCELL in opening a branch in that part the country. He called on the people of Kailahun Town and its surroundings to make good use of the service, adding that the inhabitants will help promote and support QCELL to grow. He cautioned however that he hopes that the terms and conditions of QCELL would be soft, attractive and flexible so that inhabitants of the town will be encouraged to use the service.
On his part, Local Unit Commander of Kailahun Town, Joseph Morieba Sesay informed his audience that the opening of the QCELL Customer Care Shop is a landmark in the history of Sierra Leone and for that part of the country.
He added that it is a fact that QCELL is the only telecom country which is recognized in that part of the country because it is bringing its services to the people in order to alleviate their plight and change their lives. He noted that as police officers they will do all in their power to provide security for the shop and appealed for the provision of a free toll line to assist in policing and security efforts and for making distress calls in any eventuality.
The formal handing over ceremony and cutting of the tape was performed by Badou Jobe – Customer Care Lead and the Paramount Chief of Kailahun.
Earlier however, Abubarkarr Mansaray – Branding and Communication Officer threw light on the products and services QCELL to the audience.
Representing NaCOVERC at the auspicious occasion to ensure that COVID-19 protocols were followed through was Mr. Robin Thomas. He encouraged every Sierra Leone to always use face masks and observe other safety regulations in order to keep themselves and their families safe. He noted that the coming of QCELL to that part of the country will boost their operations and encouraged all NaCOVERC staff in Kailahun to use QCELL services.
Matty Nyang – Sales Lead Manager gave the vote of thanks, citing that QCELL is here to change the lives of the people in Sierra Leone through efficient, affordable and reliable telecom and internet services and encouraged residents of Kailahun to subscribe to QCELL.
