Parliament to Debate Constitutional Instruments Relating to Kush And Other Harmful Drugs

SHAMEFUL… Parliament ‘Undresses’ Ministers

The Office of the Clerk of Parliament has informed the general public that Parliament will commence debate on Tuesday, 23, April 2024 on the proclamation made by President Bio regarding Constitutional Instruments No.6 & 7 of 2024, relating to Kush and other harmful drugs.

Members of the general public including stakeholders from the Security Sector, Judiciary, Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), amongst others are invited to witness the debate in the Chamber of Parliament at 10:00 A.M prompt.


Meanwhile, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Mohamed Lamin Tarawallie Esq., in the Chamber of Sierra Leone Parliament tabled the proclamation Justice regarding Constitutional Instrument No.1 of 2024, relating to a recent declaration of a public health emergency on Kush and other harmful drugs or substances in the country.On his part, the Deputy Leader of Government Business, Hon. Bashiru Sidikie earlier supported for the regulations to be established to match up with the proclamation made by President Bio while the Acting Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Sengepoh Solomon Thomas also supported for the due process of the law to be followed and requested the Minister to do the regulations to suit the public emergency for it to be effective and efficient.


Hon. Aaron Aruna Koroma, Deputy Leader 2 of Opposition also advised that the regulations should be implemented alongside with the State of Emergency on the drugs and its related issues..
