Sierra Leone’s leading mobile phone and internet service provider, Orange Sierra Leone (OSL) Ltd. has responded to the recent horrific explosion which occurred at Wellington, taking the lives of at least 99 people so far, with several more injured and admitted in hospitals across Freetown. The company says it will use the whole of this week to make donations to all the fire victims in the various hospitals.
It is against this background that a cross-section of OSL Directors, Senior Management and Staff visited Connaught and 34 Military hospitals, donating water and food supplies to the victims of the Wellington tanker explosion accident and to the brave doctors and medical personnel treating them.
Acting CEO Haffie Haffner shared condolences on behalf of OSL and its CEO Aminata Kane Ndiaye. She commended the medical teams for their tireless work, citing that since the beginning of COVID-19 in 2019, they have been pushed to the limit but never ceased in their duties.
OSL Foundation Director Jestina Betts in her brief address, expressed her sadness over the terrible accident and praised the composure and efforts of the medical personnel. She informed those present that all throughout this week OSL Foundation shall be providing supplies to the hospitals for the staff and victims, as their commitment to alleviating some of the pressure after the terrible accident.
She added that the OSL will dedicate this week to ensuring that its presence is felt in the lives of those suffering because of this tanker explosion.
